Its GO time!

      (Well, almost.)

38 hours, 47 minutes until I'm in the air headed to Mexico for 8 weeks.

My mind is a bit spastic and full at the moment - packing lists, people to call, I have GOT to buy more deodorant before I leave, and on and on - so my apologies to those of you who reading my blogs for the first time. (My previous two are a bit more organized...hint, hint.)

So, if you can handle the randomness, I'd love to update you with where I'm at...

~ For those of you who haven't yet heard, I recently made a two year commitment with Adventures in Missions where I'll be leading trips of college aged students for 1-3 months at a time. I get to disciple, teach, study, share the Gospel, learn some new languages, pray a whole lot, and travel to different places while doing it. Basically, I have the best job in the world. Its been 4 years coming, but what God promises, He will fulfill.

~ Currently in Georgia at the AIM base, we just finished a training camp for teams going to India, Kenya, Swaziland and Nicaragua for 3 months.  It was bittersweet. We had some incredible students heading out, and it was sad to not be going with them. "Its almost time, girl" I had to keep reminding myself. Still, it was fun to walk beside them for a week, praying and encouraging and swapping stories with them. It's such a crucial stage in life, this branching out and making your faith your own. It can be a struggle for many of them (especially when we talk about being led by the Holy Spirit), but its a challenge they need. And it always does me good to be reminded of such challenges.

~ I talked to my Uncle Sam recently and spent a few good minutes reflecting on the incredible person my Grandma was. Her life and passion for God still both encourage and challenge me. I'm forever grateful.

~ I recently purchased a puzzle of a world map with the name and capital of every country. One of my life goals is to memorize all 193 and where they are located! (I'm definitely packing the puzzle in my carry-on.) I'll keep you updated with the progress.

~ Support raising has been a ridiculous mess lately.

Three things I know:   1) God called me here.

                                    2) He didn't overlook the fact that this is a support-based position.

                                    3) He must have a plan in place to work this all out.

SO, I'm still looking for people who can support me each month. Can those of you reading this do me a favor and ask God if that includes you? Even a $20 a month commitment will get me further than I am now. I'm also praying for God to send 5 people/families who can give $100 or more a month. Most of you already know my heart in this, so I feel totally safe being open with you regarding financial things. This part isn't easy for me (in fact, I hate all things financial!), but I know this is part of the process. So I simply ask each of you to pray and see what God says.

~ I read a cool verse today that pretty much sums up my entire existence:

"But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned to me by the Lord Jesus - the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God." Acts 20:21

Wow! How sweet it is that we get to be part of God's divine plan for His creation! That God chose us (us!) in all our sin and shame, redeemed us, and then brought us into partnership with Him. If that doesn't make you want to jump out of your seat and go hug somebody, I pray God helps you grasp the great reality of it today. God is crazy good!

~ Coconut M&Ms are one of my new favorite discoveries. Its a limited edition, so don't wait to try some.

Ok, I warned you of the randomness, didn't I?

Anyway, currently 37 hours, 2 minutes remaining.

I should go pack.

God is with you!

I love you all deeply,

Rebecca
